Hello Motor Sensei The promise of more snow this weekend has me worried. I'm frightened of getting trapped while out in the snow and not being able to cope. Can you offer advice? Yours Evie
Hello Evie Motor Sensei say it's better to be scared than to drive recklessly and skid into snowdrift. If out in snowy weather, reduce your speed and leave extra room for the car in front. If you vehicle begins to lose grip, try to resist panic breaking or sudden steering movements. Gentle inputs to steering and brakes will serve you better - wait until the wheels gain some grip then accelerate gradually, using the highest gear you can. If you get stuck, phone for help and stay with your car. Stay warm, but ensure that if you run the engine that the exhaust isn't blocked by snow.
