My wiper has stopped working

Hello Motor Sensei

The rear wiper on my VW Polo has stopped working in the snowy weather. Before I ring a garage, can you offer any advice on what might have gone wrong?

Hello Louise

Snow on the rear screen may have put a strain on the wiper motor. Our bet is that the fuse has blown - to protect the motor from damage. If that's so, all it will need is a replacement fuse, which'll cost a couple of pounds. The fuse box is in the end of the dash on the driver's side.
