A poll just conducted on motors.co.uk revealed that a quarter of visitors would think twice before attempting to change a wheel and tyre at the roadside. And a sizeable percentage wouldn't even try – they’d call for help.

That’s borne out by the Automobile Association, who say that one in 10 of all call outs is to fix a puncture. That’s 350,000 wheel changes a year and is, for AA members, the second most common reason for an unscheduled stop.
