Jeep’s Cherokee has undergone big changesJeep’s Cherokee has undergone big changes. The mid-sized off-roader gets a new suspension and steering system to make it more car-like and refined on the road. The range drops from two models to one, the 2.8 Limited. There’s a choice of manual or auto transmissions.
The cabin moves upmarket, offering a leather interior, heated front seats that are also electrically adjustable. As an option, there’s a full length canvas roof that is electrically powered and can be opened on the move. The vehicle also has a bigger boot and more in-cabin storage.
Jeep's Selec-Trac II four-wheel drive system is fitted: this anticipates and prevents wheel slip. Cherokees with an auto gearbox also feature a new hill descent control system.
A 2.8 diesel is the sole engine option and the car costs £24,595 with a manual gearbox. Picking an auto adds £1000.
