Just-released pics confirms that this car is a looker, no matter if its glass roof is up or down

This is Renault’s new coupe-cabriolet. The new car, which begins sale this spring, boasts a folding glass hard-top as standard. A powered mechanism to raise and lower the roof is standard across the six-model range and will go from open to closed in 21 secs.

The car is a full four-seater and Renault promises that all can travel comfortably roof-down at any speed, thanks to a forward-placed front screen and a glass wind diffuser fixed just behind the rear seats.

As is usual for this type of car, the boot halves in size whenever the roof is stowed. But here, at least the space shifts from 417cu litres with the roof up to a still-reasonable 211cu litres, roof-down. There’ll be a choice of three trims and Renault promises that standard kit will be high, including keyless entry and start-up, climate controlled air conditioning, digital/analogue instruments and an electronic parking brake.

Engines will include a 1.6, 1.4 turbo and 2.0 petrols and turbodiesel engines offering 110, 130 and 160bhp. Renault hasn’t released prices yet but we’d expect them to start around £20,500, closely matching those of its nearest rival, the Peugeot 308 CC.
