Motors' Most Deserving Student - Winner!

Motors.co.uk is proud to announce David Moorhead as the winner of their Most Deserving Student Award for 2013.

David will be presented with his prize of a Renault Twingo car and a £1,000 donation to go towards the University of Bedfordshire where he is currently studying for his PHD.

David has survived three rounds; his story was selected from 200 other student nominees, a public vote and a final judging panel’s decision to take the ‘Most Deserving Student’ title. His story was submitted by his partner Samantha, who described David as ‘education’s biggest champion’.

Battling dyslexia and dyspraxia, David has gone on to become an ambassador for his University and is now sharing his knowledge and experience by lecturing to fellow students alongside his studies, whilst also caring for his daughter who is unwell.

Runners up include Nathan Woolfrey and Keldene McNulty, both of whom have shown great intellectual promise despite the troubles they have faced.

But it was David’s determination not to be beaten which inspired the judges at Motors.co.uk.
David’s presence in the competition has highlighted the lack of understanding surrounding dyslexia a dyspraxia.

“This is a justification, proving those wrong that mistook my Dyspraxia for laziness and told me I wouldn’t even get a GCSE… I hope there are others with learning disabilities that can see this and realise ‘it can be done’”. David speaking to Motors.co.uk

Motors was thrilled to hear of the stories and achievements of all of the nominees who were unknowingly put forwards by their friends and family members. The response has been overwhelming, and shows just what can be achieved with the right attitude and commitment.
