Skoda YetiThe Yeti, Skoda’s fifth and newest car in its line-up, will cost from £13,750 when it begins UK sale on September 17. The range spans four trim levels, five engines and two- or four-wheel drive so that the dearest model, a four-wheel-drive Yeti elegance with a 2.0, 170bhp diesel engine, tops out at £22,120.

Trim levels run from E, though S, SE and on to Elegance. Even the cheapest models have manual air conditioning, remote locking, six airbags and electric front windows.

There will be two petrol engines – a 105bhp 1.2 and a 160bhp 1.8 – and three diesels – all 2.0-litre but offering 110bhp, 140bhp or 170bhp. The 1.2 petrol is available only with front-wheel-drive transmission, while the 110bhp 2.0 is teamed with two- or four-wheel drive. The other engines come with four-wheel-drive as standard.
