Latest seven-seat people-shifter from French car company begins sale early in 2010 and costs from £17,000
Peugeot’s 5008 seven-seater reaches showrooms in January, costing from £16,895. The newcomer joins a busy market segment, competing against Volkswagen’s Touran, the Vauxhall Zafira and the Mazda 5, among others.
The car, which is all-new, is like its key rivals in that its rearmost seats drop into the floor until needed – a first for Peugeot. The mid-row chairs fold flat, too, turning it into a van when needed.
There’s be three trim options – Active, sport and Exclusive – and a choice of five engines . Two will be petrol and three, diesel. Air conditioning, electric parking brake, electronic stability programme and energy-saver tyres come as standard across all models.
