Used Alfa Romeo 147

Buying an Alfa Romeo is like investing in a work of art, and the 147 is a fantastic example. It’s devilishly pretty and will turn heads wherever it goes, but also backs up the sublime styling with an excellent overall drive. For those people who want a small car that isn’t run of the mill, has a lot of character and isn’t short on panache, the Alfa Romeo 147 is a great choice.

The 147 was first made available in 2000 and took the Millennium by storm. It was voted European Car of the Year in 2001 and enjoyed a 10 year life that made it one of the most successful Alfas ever.

It’s easy to fall in love with this car because of its elegant design and perky nature. The interior is what you’d expect from an Italian car and there’s a decent amount of room in the front, but space is at a premium in the back. The boot is acceptable, but more space can be salvaged with the rear seats down. Practicality isn’t really a strong point, but then again you don’t buy an Alfa for that reason.

The 147 really does come alive on the road and it’s very sporty indeed. With several sprightly engines available, there’s a decent amount of ‘umph’ to get you going and the handling is slick and responsive. It holds the road well and the ride is very comfortable indeed. The company’s racing pedigree certainly isn’t lost on this little auto.

Being a thing of beauty, the 147 was quite expensive to buy brand new back in the day, but since the end of its run in 2010, there are more second hand bargains available than you can shake a stick at. You’ll have no trouble uncovering a used Alfa Romeo 147 at Motors.co.uk as there are literally thousands of different listings to sift through. Pre owned cars for sale are the best deals around, and going this route will allow you to drive away in a masterpiece of much less money!

So if you’re after a small hatchback that looks the business and is classically Italian in demeanour, look no further than the Alfa 147. It’s small but perfectly formed and really does offer a fantastic drive. Thinking outside the box is what made Alfa Romeo successful, and doing the same thing when buying one can get you an absolute bargain.
