Citroen C5 Estate

The estate version of Citroen's large family car arrived on the UK's roads in 2001 and is still being produced to this day. It's a high-quality load-lugger, with great refinement and a classy cabin.

The first generation lasted until 2007, when it was replaced by a sleeker and better specified second generation. All models are front-wheel drive.

The first thing you'll notice about the C5 is that it looks very impressive from all angles. Note the distinctive double chevron grille, high waistline and muscular side panels. The car is both elegant and modern, and is perfect for comfortable long-distance driving.

The engine range is mostly diesel, although some petrol units have been available over its lifespan. All the engines are tried-and-tested, powerful and economical units, ranging from a 1.6L to a range-topping 3.0L V6 that powers the C5 Touring to a top speed of 150mph.

The interior is spacious, well-engineered and practical. The driver's seat features multi-adjustments to find the perfect driving position, and the rear seats split and fold flat to enlarge the boot area. You'll find equipment levels are generally higher than rival large estates, including state-of-the-art safety features, a great sound system and trip computers.
