Citroen Nemo

One of the assortment of commercial vehicles offered by Citroen, the Nemo is a panel van that’s designed primarily for making and taking deliveries in built up areas. You get all the qualities of a regular LCV, but also a tiny turning circle and unobtrusive exterior that allow it to negotiate the urban jungle with ease. It’s a solid and well made vehicle that’s a great addition to any fleet.

Part of a joint venture with Fiat, Peugeot and Tofas, the Nemo was introduced in 2007 and has recorded some impressive sales figures since. It’s available in regular panel van format, but also as a minivan- the Nemo Multispace. With a payload of 610 kilos and a load volume of 2.5 cubic meters, it’s competitively placed in the commercial market and is more than sufficient for doing its job.

A nicely designed vehicle, the Nemo sports a plastic clad front end that looks like a rugged beard; the offset front grille and boot lid is also a nice feature, and there are some funky shapes to be found all over the bodywork. Not a particularly large van from the outside, the interior space is huge, and so comfort isn’t a problem. A wealth of functional kit to keep you cool, safe and entertained, it’s fully stocked and could actually rival some entry level cars.

As an ‘urban LCV’, you’d expect the Citroen to drive well, and it does. Some punchy but superbly economical engines get it up to speed nicely, and the handling is exciting and confident which means cornering is actually a lot of fun. The ability to turn on a 20 pence piece and the nippy nature means overall it’s perfectly suited to zipping in and out of traffic in busy urban areas. Back roads and motorways aren’t an issue either.
