Used Ford Mondeo

The original Ford Mondeo was launched in 1993 and, with a few facelifts, it continued in production until 2000. The second generation model was produced from 2000 until 2007 when the current generation was released. The Mondeo is available as a saloon, a hatchback and an estate.

The Mondeo is a hugely popular car and has a strong presence on the used car market. Even used first generation Mondeo models are still good sellers, though models made after 2000 are much more sophisticated in many ways. Levels of comfort were improved, as was the suspension and steering. A diesel engine was introduced which was followed in 2003 by several more engine options.

With the third generation the Mondeo moved considerably forward in terms of space, comfort and equipment. In its class this is certainly a leader and challenges much more expensive executive cars. As a family car, it is ideal. The new Mondeo really looks the business and it has plenty of attitude too.

There are numerous engine choices which include some excellent diesel and petrol units that combine excellent economy with a considerable amount of power. It is also an excellent car to drive and it eats up motorway miles, so you end your journey feeling as refreshed as you did when you set out.

A used Ford Mondeo is an excellent buy and there are a very large number of examples on the market. They tend to offer a lot of car for a very reasonable price and this could be because they are very popular fleet cars. Wherever you might be located in the UK, Motors.co.uk could find a deal on a used Ford Mondeo in your local area.

The sportiest model is equipped with the 2.2 litre TDCi Duratorq turbo-diesel engine. This develops 197 bhp and the car accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 7.9 seconds, with a top speed of 144 mph. This is a very sophisticated car and is a strong rival to the BMWs in its class.
