If you’re looking for a big pickup truck but don’t want a Toyota Hilux, the Ford Ranger should be right up your street. It’s a bit of a monster and has a certain arrogance about it that’s common with American cars- it knows it’s awesome, so hurry up and come to the same conclusion, bud.

The Ranger has been dominating the roads since 2006 in Europe, and is heavily based on the Mazda BT-50. There’s also a version for the American market, but that’s totally different. What the Ranger gives you in abundance is bulk and power- it could tow the Earth if required and fit Jupiter on its flat bed.

As a commercial vehicle, the Ranger is right up there with the best of them, so whether you’re going to be hauling loads of venturing into the wild it’s more than capable of dominating every situation.

For a car that’s main focus is brute strength, it has a decent amount of kit on the inside, which by the way isn’t a bad place to sit in at all. It’s comfortable and there’s room in the back for up to 3 adults if you go for larger models.
