Honda Insight

The Honda Insight is a small hybrid car that’s an eco warrior’s best friend. It offers a genuinely environmentally friendly option for those people that are concerned about saving the planet, but also saving a fair bit of money. Reliable, very economical and easy to get along with on a daily basis, the Insight isn’t the future, but provides a great short term solution to minimising fuel usage, which is what the motoring industry should be most concerned with.

The Insight has actually been around since 1999, and although early models resembled something out of The Jetsons, it has to be said that the latest generations are great all rounders. It comes in 3 or 5 door hatchback versions and looks tasty all around. You’ll save a fair bit of money too as taxes are lower, it’s exempt from congestion charges in London and is also very frugal- spending a lot of time at the petrol station is a thing of the past.

If you were expecting something totally out of this world in terms of design, think again. The Insight looks like a typical Honda, but that’s not a bad thing at all. It’s very stylish and has a ‘techno-modern’ to it. The interior is user friendly, well laid out and full of equipment. It’s spacious and very comfortable, which is a breakthrough in this kind of car. Best of all though, there’s a boot that you can actually put things in, and that makes it a viable option as an everyday car.

Look, you can’t buy a hybrid car and expect masses of performance- it totally defeats the purpose. The Insight is all about slow, methodical and economical driving, and really does excel in this regard. With some sensitive handling, it’s great around town and the suspension is quite firm, but nothing to worry about. Overall the Honda offers a great driving experience, so more than makes the grade compared to regular cars.

Saving the planet doesn’t come cheap for the most part, but actually the Insight is quite reasonably priced. However there’s always an opportunity to bag a real bargain if you buy second hand, and at Motors.co.uk you’ll see a fantastic selection of pre owned cars for sale at significantly discounted prices. Paying less for a used Honda Insight is the name of the game, so take a look.

The fact is that the Honda Insight is a fantastic car that’ll serve families proudly as it works well and doesn’t cost a lot. A genuinely practical, comfortable and reliable car, it’s an excellent steed for everyday use and you get the added bonus of knowing you’re doing your part to keep emissions down. What’s not to like about that?
