Kia Rio

South Korean auto makers have a habit of producing inexpensive autos that do the job perfectly without all the unnecessarily fussy bits. The Kia Rio is a straight down the line, ‘what you see is what you get’ kind of car that is an excellent all rounder and perfect for families and people on a budget. There’s no denying it’s stylish, but it’s hugely practical and cheap to run too!

The first Rio was introduced back in 2000 and was rather a damp squib. However several generations have followed and these modern versions are a world apart from the original ones. Whereas the Kia was just plain cheap before, now it’s great value for money and comes with rather a lot of kit. Available as a hatchback and saloon, it’s worth a look.

In terms of exterior design, Kias aren’t known for being masterpieces like some European marques, but they definitely aren’t ugly. The Rio looks quite conservative but you can see some areas, like the front grille, where someone in the know has grabbed the pencil. The interior is spacious, well equipped and comfortable, but has that plastic feel that you’d expect from a car of its price.

The Kia drives well and holds the road nicely. The handling is quite responsive and there’s certainly more feel than you’d expect. With a comfortable ride, it’s great on motorways, back roads or even around urban areas. There are several petrol and diesel engines to choose from that deliver some solid performance without destroying fuel economy all together.

You’ll have no trouble finding a used Kia Rio online at Motors.co.uk because there’s a massive selection of second hand cars for sale. An uncompromising approach to quality and some impressive price reductions means a real bargain is never too far away. With the Rio you’ll get a car that’s certainly fully loaded and ready to go.

So really the Kia Rio carries on the South Korean tradition of producing great value cars. It’s cheap to buy, especially pre owned, and has all the characteristics and kit you’d expect from a much more expensive auto. It’s versatile, practical, economical and also comes with a super warranty, which is always good to hear.
