Kia Soul

These days, cars in the compact hatchback niche seem to be more similar than identical twins. Clearly somebody found a popular approach and the rest dived in and tried to copy it. It’s refreshing to see that Kia has gone in a totally the opposite direction with the Soul, and it really is brilliant. If you’re after a car with bags of personality that really stands out from the crowd, this is the obvious choice.

The Kia Soul first appeared in 2008 and immediately garnered a lot of attention for its dazzling design. The 5 door hatchback is a wonderful family car, and brings a breath of fresh air to a somewhat monotonous genre.

There’s no denying it looks sublime from the outside with a mix of shapes, angles, curves and materials. Inside it’s much the same, and there’s a serious amount of space available. It’s certainly retro and the colour combinations are very funky indeed. The driving position is good, and the large windows provide a heavenly amount of light. You also get a decent sized boot, which can hold anything from shopping to luggage; practicality is certainly a plus point.

When out on the road the Soul comes alive and it’s a lot of fun to drive. A somewhat firm ride and responsive steering makes it feel like a much smaller car, but it’s well balanced and goes well at speed and in the corners. City slickers will find it incredibly easy to live with as it’s sprightly and nippy in traffic and easy to park. While it’s not really made for speed, fuel economy is an area where it does better than most.

The great thing about shopping for used cars for sale at Motors.co.uk is that there’s an awesome selection and mind boggling price discounts. Basically you pay less and get more which is the definition of a bargain, and with a second hand Kia Soul, you’ll be driving away with something astonishing in no time at all. Why pay full price when there are so many excellent potentials available for a small fraction of the cost?

What you get with the Kia Soul then is something out of left field that isn’t afraid to compete with the big boys. It’s a hugely impressive hatchback that looks unique, has a lot of space and a huge amount of equipment. Add practicality, insane levels of reliability and that 7 year warranty to the mix, and the Soul is one tidy package.
