Lexus is a brand synonymous with quality and its cars really are awesome to behold. The perfect blend of style, luxury and performance, there’s also that special Japanese X factor that European brands can’t get close to. While the luxury executive car genre may be packed full of established wonders, the Lexus IS is more of a new kid on the block, but it certainly gives the big boys something to think about!

The IS was first introduced in 1998 and has become very popular over the years. Available as a saloon, estate and cabriolet, it certainly doesn’t lack any appeal. The Lexus is certainly stylish and has a presence about it, with plethora of sharp angles, defined lines and chrome extras. The sumptuous interior is just as pleasant on the eye, and has a logical layout to it. A decent amount of cabin space plus a wealth of equipment as standard means the IS is rather stocked.

You expect a Lexus to perform on the road, and the IS is no exception. Some clever engineering means it’s wonderful in the corners and a lot of fun overall. Add in a comfortable ride quality and bags of power from several different engines, and really the Lexus is up there with the best. Being an offshoot of Toyota, reliability won’t be a problem and you can expect high levels of safety too, which is nice to know.

Buying a brand new Lexus will mean your bank account will take an almighty battering as they are hugely expensive. After all, luxury comes at a price. Despite this however, you could always go down the second hand route and end up with an absolute bargain. Used cars for sale give you a huge amount of bang for your buck, and in the case of a second hand Lexus IS, it’ll be quite a lot. For a car that prides itself on being of the highest quality, getting one for less is a real coup.

If anything is apparent it’s that the Lexus IS is a real contender in the luxury executive car market. Available in several different forms, it appeals to all kinds of drivers who are looking to travel in style but want something a bit different from the regular European rabble. It’s a refined, well equipped and fantastic to drive but has that craziness you expect from a Japanese car with some power.
