Peugeot 108

The Peugeot 108 is part of the same production partnership between France's PSA Group and Japan's Toyota that created the C1 and the Aygo, a money-saving exercise that gives you small cars with lots of big car refinements.

Under the bonnet, the 108 offers a choice of Toyota's 1.0L and Peugeot's 1.2L petrol engines. The 1.0L is fine for driving around town, but if you expect to be heading out on the motorway regularly, the 1.2L might be the better option. Light controls and a small turning circle make it perfect for navigating busy streets and tight parking spots.

An entry-level 108 Access comes with electric front windows and a stereo with USB and aux connections, but upgrade to the Active and you'll get air-con, a touch-screen infotainment system and steering wheel audio controls. The Allure adds automatic lights, a reversing camera and alloys, and you'll also get leather seats and climate control on Feline models.

There's lots of room in the front of a 108, but limited legroom means the back seat is only really suitable for children. The five-door models will make it easier for parents to get young children strapped into their child seats, and the boot is almost a third bigger than that of the old 107.

If you are interested in buying a used 108, then Motors.co.uk's network of dealers will help you find the vehicle you're looking for.
