Mention the word Peugeot and hot hatch, and it won’t be long before the numbers two, oh and five come up. Unfortunately for the French company, every baby hot hatch they’ve produced since the 80s have failed to live up to the ‘iconic’ status of its fore bearer. Yes, it... (12-05-2017)

Peugeot 207 GT

The Peugeot 207 GT really does go above and beyond all other trim levels on this impressive hatchback, and offers something decidedly sporty, hugely rewarding to drive and excellent to look at. It’s just a fantastic car that’s rather ‘hot’, and verging on GTI territory, but still has that element of refinement that stops it going over the edge. Great to look at, packed full of kit and absolutely safe and reliable, engines are 1.6 litre petrols and diesels that are full of fighting spirit but offer great fuel economy too. Whether you go for the 3 or 5 door models, you won’t be disappointed.Yes the Peugeot 207 GT is a great looking car that has some funky features to it, most notably the front end. The inside is just as nice though, and getting in showcases the airy and quality nature; while space in the back might be rather tight for adults, you still get a 270 litre boot. Gear and gadgetry wise, the GT has a whole heap of good stuff like climate control, 17 inch alloy wheels, partial leather sports seats, brushed aluminium pedals, automatic wipers, special headlights, and a very good sound system. To drive, this car comes alive as soon as you start it up; city streets aren’t a problem, and neither are highways, but country roads with corners are where it thrives. Pay £7,000 used.
