The Renault Captur is the latest of a growing breed of compact crossovers, which do without four-wheel-drive and lots of ground clearance, but retain the butch SUV styling and raised driving position of a typical off-roader. The top dogs over at Renault HQ are clearly cheesed off at the fact rival manufacturer Seat recently nicked the sub-eight minute Nurburgring lap record from them. Renault Clio Campus Sport

The Renault Clio Campus Sport is a perky and quirky little hatchback that has masses of appeal, a friendly attitude, decent amount of equipment and good overall driving experience. Available in 3 door models only, it sits towards the middle of the trim spectrum, and represents exceptional value for money. Stylish, practical, easy to live with on a daily basis and always ready to get going, there are also some good safety and reliability scores. In terms of engines, you’ll find 1.2 litre petrols and 1.5 litre diesels, so there’s definitely some sportiness as the name suggests!Definitely a good looking little hatchback, the Renault Clio Campus Sport does everything you’d want from a car of this ilk. The interior is robust enough for daily use, and the kit list is pretty good too, with things like alloy wheels, air con, cloth sports seats, electric windows, front and side airbags, remote locking and much more. It really is very usable on a daily basis, and the 242 litre boot can take anything from luggage to shopping. Driving wise, this car is a lot of fun, and definitely has that lively element you’d expect. It’s easy to control and quick witted, which makes it great around town especially. Pay £3,000 used.
