Saab 9-3

The 9-3 is a family car or compact executive saloon developed by Swedish manufacturer Saab, showcasing some of the company's aeronautical influences. It was first seen on the UK's roads in 1998, before the second generation came along in 2002.

Both cars are premium front-wheel drive cars that come in various forms. The first model is available as a three or five-door hatchback or two-door convertible. The second 9-3 provides a complete redesign. This newer model isn't available as a hatchback at all - it comes as a four-door saloon, five-door estate or two-door convertible.

The 9-3s are high quality distinctive vehicles with an attractive understated style. They offer sporty performance and handling. Inside, the quality cabins are always comfortable and well-equipped. Petrol and diesel engines are available, as are manual and automatic gearboxes.

The Saab was one of the first cars in its class to receive a full 5* Euro NCAP safety rating. Sadly, Saab went out of business in 2011 and the 9-3 was obviously discontinued as a result. The remaining cars, however, have demonstrated the longevity and reliability characteristic of the marque and it retains a classy image.
