Sitting directly in the middle of trim levels, the Vauxhall Meriva Energy is a positive small people carrier that really does perform superbly for families. It’s great value for money, nicely practical, good to drive and not bad to look at either. With a decent amount of equipment, it’s a great everyday motor and also boasts versatility, as well as positive safety and reliability scores. What you get is a good all rounder that just works, and engines span 1.4 to 1.6 litre petrols, plus 1.3 to 1.7 litre diesels.The Vauxhall Meriva Energy lives up to its name as there’s a lot of positivity about it that really does appeal. Featuring some wonderful exterior designs that are understated but likable, the interior is nicely roomy, practical and well put together; you also get 350 litres of boot space. On the gear and gadgetry side of things, expect to find air conditioning, steel wheels, a CD stereo, cloth seats, electric windows, airbags, spare wheel, remote locking, service indicator and a great deal more. Always nice to drive, the Energy feels confident and responsive on the tarmac, which only increases appeal. Get yours for £4,000 used.
