Alfa Romeo Brera
The Alfa Romeo Brera is a masterpiece of automotive design. It’s simply breathtaking from every angle and makes you want to get out on the open road and just drive. A sporty grand tourer, it has mountains of Italian charm and excellent performance to boot. Climbing into one is an experience in itself, and one you really don’t want to end!
The Brera was introduced in 2005, although Alfa were reluctant to at first. It enjoyed 5 years of critical acclaim and huge popularity until production was ceased in 2010. While the Brera itself is a coupe, a cabriolet version known as the Spider was released in 2006 and met the same fate. Overall, both are some of the most distinctive and best looking Alfas of all time.
There’s no doubt that the Brera and Spider models are jaw dropping from the outside with a sleek profile, beautiful curves and some strong lines, but inside things are just as special. Adorned with classic Italian style, there’s a place for everything and everything’s in its place. From the layout of the angled centre console to the comfort of the seats, the high quality trim and the huge amount of kit, it’s just brilliant.
Actually the Brera is rather practical and has a boot akin to that of a regular size hatchback. The Spider on the other hand suffers when the roof is down, but this certainly doesn’t detract from its appeal. Enough luggage for a week’s cruising around the Riviera could fit in there with no problem, which is exactly what you’d want.
While the driving experience isn’t as notable as the supreme styling, it’s certainly not bad by any means. With several different engines, including a range topping V6, there’s more than enough grunt under the bonnet to make you feel alive. The ride is quite firm and there’s a good amount of grip though the corners, but you can’t help but feel there’s something missing. Get the S, or Q4 special edition versions and you’ll soon find it.
You can save a phenomenal amount of money buying a second hand Alfa Romeo Brera from Motors.co.uk. There are huge price discounts across thousands of used cars for sale, so getting a great deal is always a likely. What this means is you can enjoy this incredible Italian coupe for a small portion of the cost.
Clearly then, the Alfa Brera is lovely to look at, sublime to sit in and wonderful to get behind the wheel of. It’s just amazing and is ideal for people looking for a coupe cum GT car for long cruises or something uber stylish for everyday driving. Be warned though, you might never get rid of the smile that’ll be plastered across your face!
