    Aston Martin DB7

There’s only a select group of car brands that tug at the heart strings and cause inexplicable displays of emotion just on sight. Aston Martin is one of them, and just watching any of the autos from its stable drive past is enough to brighten up even the darkest of days. It stands to reason then that getting behind the wheel of one would be the experience of a lifetime, and one of the most famous is the DB7.

It was released in a blaze of glory in 1994, and went on to have 10 hugely successful years of production until 2004. Only 7000 were produced making it quite exclusive, but that only added to the appeal. Sporting a monstrous V12 engine, the DB7 was an improvement on the V8 cars it succeeded, but was then overshadowed by the mighty Vanquish towards the end of its life. It was eventually replaced with the DB9.

Aston Marin cars are devastatingly beautiful and regularly prompt people to stop and stare. The DB7 is no different, and is eye wateringly pretty to behold from every angle. With a sleek profile, that classic front grille and sexy curves galore, it’s a real work of art that any petrol head would be proud to be own. The interior is just as epic and has some seriously high quality materials and finishing touches. While there isn’t a great deal of space, it’s all part of the fun; you actually feel like an extension of the car. Comfortable to sit in, it’s just a phenomenal experience all round.

The DB7 is a bone fide GT car and as such is unbelievably good to drive. With a starter button on the dash, one press and the engine comes to life with an ominous growl. That’s just the start of it. The ride is soft and forgiving, and there’s a good amount of grip, but the steering really needs to be a bit sharper. You can attack corners with confidence, thanks in part to the massive breaks that would probably stop an F1 car dead if required. Whether you’re letting loose or cruising around, the Aston is perfect in every respect.

The fact that more DB7s were produced than any other Aston means shopping around for a pre owned one yields some great results. Motors.co.uk is your one stop shop for quality used cars for sale and some mind bogglingly low prices will allow you to drive away in a second hand Aston Martin DB7 for a dramatically reduced sum. What’s not to like about that?

The simple fact is that the Aston DB7 is a monumentally good car that set the standard for the Vanquish and DB9 to follow. Whether you go for the coupe or cabriolet version, you’ll have the ride of your life. Luxurious, perfectly balanced and easy to drive fast, there are few other cars from its time that can compete!
