Wowza! A few upgraded models were also released, including the 599 HGTE (an improved handling package) and 599 GTO.
A whole thesis could be written about how amazing the Ferrari is to look at; it really is sublime. From the pointy lines on the bonnet to the sharp headlights, the door mounted air vents and the famous prancing horse logo on the front grille, it’s all majestic. You’ll be looking at Italian style at its best inside the cabin, and comfort levels are off the chart. High quality materials are lavished upon ever surface, and the driving position is great. A shocking lack of kit means optional extras are necessary, especially the F1 paddle shift gearbox. There is a comparatively huge boot though, that’s similar to that of a hatchback.
To truly express how good the 599 is to drive, you’d have to scream and shout a whole load of words that couldn’t be repeated here. In short it’s the definition of awesome. The aluminium body makes it light, and the huge V12 power plant gets it up to warp speed in an instant. A perfectly balanced chassis means it handles like a dream and can be thrown into corners without disastrous results. Easy to control thanks to a wealth of clever gadgets, it is a get in and go kind of car, but rewards real drivers the most.
The only way regular people could get their hands on this car is to win the lottery or dream about it at night.
