Ferrari F430
The Ferrari F430 is just pure class. Everything about it is amazing, from the drop dead gorgeous designs to the insane performance. It’s a pure performance machine and is definitely one of the best to come out of the Prancing Horse’s stable. An abundance of F1 technology, a reasonably low price tag for a supercar and the fact it’ll turn all your senses to mush means it’s a must have for (well off) petrol heads!
It stormed onto the scene in 2004 and can be bought in both coupe and cabriolet Spider forms. Everything about this car has been designed for speed, and its aerodynamic shape cuts drag and aids downforce. With Formula 1 technology employed in the engine and gearbox, it’s clearly and out and out racer. As if the original car wasn’t good enough, the Italian marque released several special editions, most notably the F430 Challenge, 430 Scuderia, and Scuderia Spider 16M.
In all honesty one could write tomes about how beautiful the Ferrari is, and that still wouldn’t do it justice. It’s magnificent from whichever angle you look at it, and is clearly a work of art. The blend of science and design is perfect, and everything from the strategically placed air intakes to the slippery drag profile and 1960s GP inspired front end are just downright awesome. It’s just as wonderful inside and is finished to the highest possible standard, despite its bias to performance. Nice and spacious, the seats are comfortable and there’s a quite a sturdy nature to the dash. Not much kit as standard poor levels of practicality are to be expected.
The mid engine layout makes the F430 supremely well balanced and it’s just spectacular to drive. No end of clever engineering means it works incredibly hard to stay bolted to the road, and the result is that you can sit there and take it easy behind the wheel while still feeling like a driving god. Mountains of grip and super precise steering mean tackling bendy roads it lives for, and in a straight line it’s lightning fast. The mammoth V8 engine sounds awe inspiring, produces 483 horsepower, and can get you from 0-60mph in 4 seconds, with a top speed of almost 200. Essentially it’ll take all your senses, beat them with a hammer and then do it some more. You’ll be in a state of driving nirvana in no time.
Compared to other Ferrari cars and indeed other supercars, the F430 is actually very well priced. That doesn’t mean that anyone can get hold of one though, you still have to be very well off. Those that can though will be pleased to note that buying second hand is the best way to pick up a supremely good bargain.
