The Fiat Brava is a family friendly 5 door hatchback from the famous Italian automaker. Full of flair, it’s excellent to drive and doesn’t cost too much either. If you want something that’s fun, funky and reliable, this is still a great option to consider even though it’s been out of production for a while.
Introduced in 1995 alongside the smaller 3 door Bravo, the Brava is longer, more spacious and understandably a better option for families. Several facelifts have been applied to it over the years, and the most modern versions are very stylish indeed. Featuring a range of different trims as well as a multitude of petrol and diesel engines, it’s easy to see why the Fiat has been voted European Car of the Year. When production ceased in 2001, the Brava had built up an impressive legacy, although only the Bravo was reincarnated in 2007.
From the outside the Fiat is nice and shapely with thin nose and body curves. It’s certainly been blessed with Italian flamboyance and is more than stylish enough for its intended audience. There’s a lot of room inside, and both driver and passengers can sit comfortably. The whole setup is one of logicality and the tactile cockpit has been specifically designed to be as ergonomic as possible. While standard trims are relatively sparse, there’s a lot of equipment on higher spec versions, and the boot can take 380 litres too, which makes it decently sized.
The front wheel drive setup means the handling is sharp and it loves to go through the corners. A comfortable ride and high quality feel gives you confidence on all kinds of roads. The vast array of engines mean you can go for something small and punchy or larger and more performance based, but the 1.6 litre petrol and 1.9 litre TD100 particularly stand out. Solid on motorways and good around town, it’s the ideal runabout for busy families.
With a quite a lot having been produced, there’s every opportunity to get your hands on fantastic bargain second hand Fiat Brava right here at Motors.co.uk. The selection is monstrous and well exceeds 150,000 different listings. But the great thing is that quality is high and prices are heavily discounted; this means that you’ll pay less for something that’s still superb and that’s the definition of an incredible deal.
At the end of the day, families want something cheap to buy, cheap to run, reliable and practical. The Fiat Brava is all of those things and many more. It does exactly what it says on the box with typical Italian panache and really does deliver a great all round driving experience. Unquestionably stylish, it’s still more than capable of being an all time favourite.
