Fiat Stilo
The Fiat Stilo is a small car that’s typical of the Italian brand; quite sporty looking, excellent value for money and good fun to drive, it’s certainly an option families would consider, and can actually contend with more established German, American or French motors of a similar ilk. Budget friendly and full of personality, it’s a nice little car that has a lot to offer.
In production from 2001-2007, the Stilo was relatively popular as it gave a lot and took very little (money that is). It could be bought in 3 or 5 door hatchback models and even a 5 door estate, although it has to be said that the former received more attention. There’s even an Abarth version for people looking for something seriously hot.
On the design front, Italian flair is a hallmark of the Fiat brand, but the company took a different tack with the Stilo. It’s conservative and even ‘German’ looking, but compared to other cars in its class, there’s no question it’s well ahead of the game. The Stilo’s interior is comfortable, well laid out and has a plethora of gadgets to play with. Some quality materials and some decent cabin space mean it can punch above its weight, and the boot is big enough for everyday items like shopping.
Take the Fiat on the road and it’ll put a smile on your face, but isn’t an out and out drivers car like some; get the Abarth if you’re looking for that. Several different engines are available, with the 1.9 litre petrol being the standout. The ride is comfortable and you get some confident and responsive steering too. The Stilo is composed on motorways or back roads, and enjoys town driving as well.
The Fiat was a bargain back in the day, but now it’s even more impressive. Take a look through the substantial selection of used cars for sale here at Motors.co.uk and you’ll soon see that a second hand Fiat Stilo won’t cost that much at all. Given that quality is high too, you’ll come away with a seriously good little family car.
So the Fiat Stilo is small, well formed and capable on the road. Despite its comparatively plain looks, it’s good to drive, has a lot of kit and is quite spacious- especially the 5 door model. For those people looking for a value for money runabout that’s comfy and easy to get on with, the Stilo is well worth a look.
