Runcorn
Runcorn is an important industrial and port town located on the banks of the River Mersey in Cheshire. The population stands at 62,000 and it is situated north east of Chester, west of Warrington and south east of Liverpool.
A quaint fishing village until the 18th century, the Industrial Revolution changed its fortune substantially, and soon a large port grew up.
