Gosport
The Hampshire town of Gosport is located right on the coast, and is situated on the west side of Portsmouth Harbour. Around 80,000 people call it home, and it’s twinned with Royan in France. With a proud naval, military and maritime history, it’s more of a commuter location today.
An important port and harbour for much of its history, Gosport was a support area for Portsmouth Naval Base in terms of protection and provision from the 15th century right up until the 1970s. However in the modern era such services aren’t as prevalent due to smaller demand, and as such the town has sought other interests. The history is still quite clear to see though.
Indeed Gosport is more of a business centre today, but is also home to light manufacturing and retail sectors. Mainly a commuter town however, it also attracts numerous tourists who use the Solent and harbour for water related activities like sailing, as well as visiting the plethora of museums.
With Hampshire being such a diverse county, it’s superb for driving. Coastal areas, woodland and even open farmland are all available, and that means you can take in some wonderful scenery while pottering around B roads. Gosport is well connected to larger places, and there are even motorways within reach. You really can get out and explore.
With literally thousands of second hand cars for sale staring you in the face, Motors.co.uk is certainly one of the best places in the UK to find used autos in Gosport. With Portsmouth extremely close and Southampton not that far away either, you certainly aren’t constrained when it comes to other places to look. Dramatically discounted prices and the fact that cars of only a very high standard are listed means it’s actually incredibly simple to get hold of an ultimate bargain!
