Gosport
The Hampshire town of Gosport is located right on the coast, and is situated on the west side of Portsmouth Harbour. Around 80,000 people call it home, and it’s twinned with Royan in France. With a proud naval, military and maritime history, it’s more of a commuter location today.
An important port and harbour for much of its history, Gosport was a support area for Portsmouth Naval Base in terms of protection and provision from the 15th century right up until the 1970s.
