Watford
Watford is a town in Hertfordshire that also gives its name to the borough that surrounds it. Positioned to the north west of London, it’s also south of Luton and is home to about 80,000 people. In total, Watford has 5 twin towns that include Mainz in Germany, Nanterre in France and Novgorod in Russia.
The area in general has a lot of Anglo Saxon history, but Watford remained quite a small agricultural settlement until the advent of the Industrial Revolution. With it came canals and railways, and much development as a consequence. Paper production in particular was one industry that sprang up, as well as printing and brewing.
An important retail centre these days, the Harlequin Shopping Centre is a major regional attraction. The headquarters of many big businesses can also be found in Watford, and it serves as a dormitory town for the capital. Home to a variety of parks and cultural attractions, the local football and rugby clubs, Watford F.C and Saracens, are based at the Vicarage Road Stadium.
As a matter of fact, Watford is actually a great area for motorists because it combines brilliant motorway links to the M25 with a close proximity to the capital, and also has a fantastic amount of countryside on its doorstep. Hertfordshire is known for being rural, and there are some excellent lanes to discover, but the likes of the Cotswolds are also near enough to enjoy. Just because one of the world’s largest cities is close doesn’t mean the scenery is spoiled.
It’s no secret that there are loads of websites out there with second hand cars for sale, but savvy buyers head straight to Motors.co.uk because it’s just a cut above the rest. Listing thousands of autos all over the UK, there’s a healthy collection of used cars in Watford especially, and that means minimal effort is required to get your hands on something special. Huge price reductions and a very high level of quality mean nothing but the absolute best is available, and you can really reap the rewards.
