Newport
Newport is a city in the Welsh county of Gwent. Situated to the north east of Cardiff and north west of Bristol, the population figures stands somewhere around 120,000. Also a unitary authority that includes several nearby areas, it’s actually the 7th most populous in the country.
Due to its coastal location, the area has been used for fishing as far back as the Bronze Age, and was inhabited by everyone from the Romans to Saxons and Normans. The location of a castle also made it particularly poignant during the middle ages. However the Industrial Revolution saw the city really take off as a major port for the rapidly expanding coal and iron industries in the wider area.
In the modern era, Newport is more of a technological and cultural centre, although industry does still play a part in the economy. The situation along the M4 motorway does help it a great deal as it benefits from the Silicon Corridor.
Newport is very close to the Brecon Beacons national park, and you can even cross the Severn Bridge to check out some of the countryside England has to offer around Gloucester. Overall, it’s a good location for motorists as you don’t have to go very far to find some exciting and rewarding driving roads.
Finding used cars for sale in Newport is actually very straightforward, especially if you check out the huge number of listings here at Motors.co.uk. There are literally thousands of second hand cars available, and two things really stand out compared to other sites. Firstly prices have been massively reduced to eye wateringly low levels, and secondly the overall standard is super high. What this means to buyers is that you can get a lot more motor for your money.
