Stafford
Stafford is situated in the West Midlands and is the county town of Staffordshire. South of Stoke-on-Trent, north of Birmingham and west of Nottingham, its population is in the region of 64,000.
Founded way back in the 1st century, it grew into a market town in the Middle Ages and then became a centre for shoe production. With the creation of railways during the 19th century, Stafford was also a major junction with lines to other cities nearby, and attracted further industry as a result.
