Dudley
The large town of Dudley can be found in the West Midlands, and is home to around 195,000 people. It’s actually the second largest town in the UK. Known for being an industrial centre, the position in the heart of the Black Country meant coal mining and metal working were always of the utmost importance.
A major market town during the Middle Ages, agriculture and iron products have always been an integral part of the town’s make up. There are numerous places of interest however, and actually the town attracts a plethora of tourists. Dudley Zoo, the castle, and the Black Country Living Museum are all important attractions, as well as the Wren’s Nest National Nature Reserve. The local market has been going since 1260, despite a few modifications.
