Kidderminster
Kidderminster is a town in Worcestershire that has a population in the region of 56,000. Situated south west of Birmingham and north of Worcester, the county town, Husum in Germany is twinned with it.
Quite a historic place, people settled in the area as early as the 8th century, but it didn’t really come to prominence until a monastery was built later on. By the 13th century, the town had a fair and market. The carpet industry was hugely important to the local economy in the 18th century, particularly after Brintons was founded in 1785; it still exists today and is a major employer in Kidderminster.
Known for being a retail centre as well, the Weaver’s Wharf area and town centre manage to attract many visitors. A wide array of shops, restaurants and bars can be found along the high street in particular. Interestingly, the town is also home to a British Aerospace and Roxel weapons manufacturing plant, which produces solid rocket motors for missile systems.
In actual fact, Kidderminster and nearby areas are great for driving because there’s an abundance of countryside to explore once you move away from urban areas, and also as the road connections are fantastic. The likes of the Brecon Beacons National Park and Snowdonia are certainly within reach, and the Cotswolds are nearby too. There’s plenty to explore.
Those people looking to buy second hand cars in Kidderminster couldn’t find anywhere better to search than Motors.co.uk. Thousands of used cars for sale are listed all over Britain, and the town is no different. The proximity to the likes of Birmingham and Worcester only make the wider selection that much better, so pretty much anything is available. With a very high standard and reduced prices as well, it’s an online El Dorado!
