The Nissan Navara is the archetypal pickup, with outstanding looks and great performance. It is rugged looking, in fact quite macho, and is an enormously powerful beast. Despite its rugged looks it is also a highly refined vehicle and tremendous fun to drive.
The Navara is available in a number of trims and the entry model is the Acenta, which has a 2.5 litre diesel engine and manual six speed gearbox. This is not the most economical vehicle on the road though, with combined fuel consumption on all models between 30.4 and 33.2 mpg. In urban conditions you should expect this to increase to a little over 23 mpg. The top speed on the 2.5 litre models is 112 mph and on the V6 it is 121 mph.
The Nissan Navara has a reputation for being the best equipped pickup that has been sold in the UK and it certainly looks the part, which makes a used Navara a great buy.
In terms of pickups the excellent 171 bhp 2.5 four cylinder turbo diesel in the latest version makes the car more powerful than any of its rivals. The four wheel drive system can be engaged when required and it has an excellent and very strong suspension system. This is a true off-roader but it is also a great on-road car too.
