The Nissan Serena is a people carrier with a chequered history. Starting out as a small MPV, it has grown to be quite a whopper in the modern era. It’s nice to drive and is most at home cruising around at a normal pace. Visiting the shops, taking the kids to school or doing odd jobs is what it’s most happy with, and despite its hulking size, it’s easy to live with. Decent all around handling, the ride is comfy and you get ample power from the selection of petrol and diesel engines without pushing fuel consumption into the red zone.

That said, there’s no lack of older models, and considering the huge price discounts you’ll receive, any used Nissan Serena will be a fantastic bargain.
