Peugeot 206 GTI
The Peugeot 206 GTI is an absolutely fantastic hot hatchback that gives you everything you’d want, while remaining exceptional value for money. Fast and lively, with great handling and a sporty balance, it’s hugely enjoyable to drive, but still performs as an everyday motor. Offering a load of bang for your buck, equipment levels are strong too, and the 2.0 litre engines under the bonnet might not be the biggest, but boy do they produce some punch. This car is just superb, and you’d be mad not to have a look.
Definitely sporty in appearance, the Peugeot 206 GTI looks great with some bodywork enhancements and that rear spoiler. It’s meant to be a bit crazy, but compared to the latest and greatest it remains quite understated. The equipment list is strong, with the likes of alloy wheels, climate control, leather sports seats, a CD sound system, all round airbags, some driver assists and even a 237 litre boot. It’s friendly enough for family use, but the real appeal of this car is for drivers who want excitement as it’s just wonderful to drive. Well balanced and with loads of grip, it’s sharp in the corners and loves to take on back roads in particular. Pay £2,000 used and have immense fun!
