The Peugeot 307 is the replacement for the Peugeot 306 and is available as a hatchback, and estate, a SW and a coupe. In 2002 it won the European Car of the Year and there were major revisions in 2005. The last version to be manufactures was the Coupe which was produced until 2008.
Although when new the Peugeot 307 was considered generally to be overpriced, as a used car buy it is now a real bargain, and the latest models can be bought at a fraction of the price of the car when it was in production.
There are three petrol versions: the 1.4 litre; the 1.6 litre and the 2.0 litre. The last one is available with 140 or 180 bhp. There is also a 2.0 litre diesel unit which is available with 90 bhp or 110 bhp along with a newer diesel with 136 bhp. The car is quite nimble and handles well; it is also an easy car to drive.
The estate version is an ideal choice as a family car and it very practical with loads of storage space. If that is not enough then you can opt for the SW which has seven seats though the two in the back are suitable only for children. It is a very safe car and an excellent choice for the regular school run.
