Peugeot 308 Access
The Peugeot 308 Access is the entry level version of this fresh, modern and appealing hatchback that’s great value for money. Offering a solid level of kit for a base spec, it’s a great car for families, people on tight budgets and those who just want something small that seems to go the extra mile. Actually quite practical, safe and reliable, there’s obvious comfort and the driving experience is good as well. Engines range from 1.4 to 1.6 litre petrols and 1.6 litre diesels, so there’s no lack of vigour, but running costs are very low.
The French automaker is famed for its funky designs that are unlike anything else in the motoring world, and the Peugeot 308 Access is definitely a fine example, especially at the front. Overall though it’s certainly attractive, and the cabin is comfortable, spacious and invites you to get in. Although it’s a base spec, kit includes air con, steel wheels, cloth seats, a CD player with media connections, electric windows, traction control and remote locking. The boot is 347 litres too, which is good for everyday use. While the ride might be firm, the driving experience is nice as there’s definitely some energy about the 308, as well as good handling. Pick up a bargain for £10,000 used.
