Seat Arosa

The Seat Arosa is a small city car from the premier Spanish automaker. It’s incredible value for money, and has a resemblance to the VW Lupo but costs a fraction of the price. With some quirky designs, this car is funky, full of life and very friendly. If you need something fun and cheap to zip around town in, here’s the answer.

Originally introduced in 1997, the Arosa has enjoyed several upgrades and facelifts over the years. A popular car, sales figures were actually quite strong in the first few years of production and it won several awards both at home in Spain and abroad. One of the smallest cars produced by Seat, the 3 door hatchback has bags of character.

While the Arosa was designed by the same person who created the Bugatti Veyron, don’t expect the same lavish designs on this little run around. It’s cute and friendly, although there is a real frown to the front headlights which gives it some attitude. The inside is tiny to say the least, and there’s really not much room at all. Compared to the latest superminis, it’s actually quite poor. However it’s comfortable, well designed and equipment levels aren’t bad. Best used as for 2 people, putting the rear seats down means you’ll actually get some room in the back to call a boot.

It is a lot of fun to drive though, and resembles a fairground dodgem in terms of handling. It can turn on a pound coin and the handling is nice and responsive. While the ride is somewhat firm, it’s ideal for zipping in and out of traffic and negotiating tight city streets. Parking couldn’t be easier thanks to its almost vertical rear end and lack of size in all areas. On the engine front, small and sprightly is the best way to describe it, but the diesel stands out as the best.

Overall the Seat is superb value for money, even though you don’t get that much car to speak of. The best way to get your hands on a good one though is to buy second hand, and as you can no doubt see, Motors.co.uk is better than most places. Some of the lowest prices around and a hugely impressive approach to quality will make it incredibly easy to bag a used Seat Arosa bargain. Second hand cars for sale give you more for less, so why think about anything else?

The bottom line is that while the Seat Arosa might not be the biggest, most spacious or fastest car around, it’s ideal for tackling busy city streets. Incredibly easy to drive and park, it’s lively, full of zeal and makes for a lot of fun. Very similar to the VW Lupo, you get all the quality for less of the cost.
