The Skoda Yeti is a cross between a family hatchback and a 4x4 semi-off-roader and it is relatively inexpensive; it is a lot of car for the money. The Yeti is not really an off-roader although it does have an off road mode which includes an automatic hill descent system. The car is designed primarily for safe and comfortable family transport. However, it does drive very well and is very stable even in tight corners. It is also very good at absorbing the bumps and poor road surfaces.
The Skoda Yeti received a 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test with 92% adult occupant protection and 78% child occupant protection. It comes with up to 11 airbags and is one of the safest cars in its class.
The Yeti has received several awards, including the 2009 Top Gear Magazine's Best Family Car and the 2010 Auto Express Car of the Year Award. In 2011, Jeremy Clarkson said on the BBC's ‘Top Gear’ that it could be the best car in the world!
