However the facelift stripped all of this away and moved it back down into the rather generic category. Interior wise, the Subaru is just massive and very comfortable. The 5 seat model is good enough, but the 7 seater does offer more practicality. A curvaceous modern cabin with a lot of chrome looks nice and a good load of kit can also be found. The boot is a substantial 450 litres, which is large to say the least.
Driving the Tribeca is easy thanks to the 4x4 system which delivers superb traction in all kinds of conditions. It’s got a lot of grip, corners well and is very well behaved most of the time. It’s not really armed with off roading gear, but could probably venture down a gravel track or two. Towns, back roads and motorways aren’t a problem, and the 3.0 and 3.6 litre engines deliver a good level of performance, even though they are thirsty.
