If there’s one thing Suzuki does well it’s small cars. The Japanese brand has been at the forefront of supermini production for many years, and never fails to delight with each new offering. The Alto is a fine example, and is all about budget friendly motoring. For those people looking for a tiny auto that’s uber cheap and costs next to nothing to run, the Alto is worth considering.
It’s actually been around since 1979, which makes it a bone fide veteran and hugely experienced. A vast array of generations can be found, and it’s almost as if the Alto has become cheaper over the years but considerably more stylish. Available in several different guises including a 3 door hatchback, 4 door saloon and even a van, the Suzuki isn’t short on versatility.
While older models took basic design to the limit, it has to be said that modern ones are actually pretty attractive to look at. There are lots of curves and shapes, but everything comes together to form a nice package; you can tell it’s a fun car straight away. For a car that’s built to be budget friendly, the interior isn’t as bad as you might expect. It’s simple, logical and minimalist but has a wealth of equipment, which is all good news.
The Alto isn’t fast at all as the engine is designed to be as frugal as possible. Despite this it performs well around town thanks to a good amount of agility. It’s easy to turn thanks to some sharp steering, so nipping in and out of traffic isn’t a problem. Neither is parking. The ride isn’t bad, which makes venturing out of urban areas more than possible, but be careful on a windy day because it could blow away.
Look, the Suzuki is as cheap as chips to buy brand new, but those people who are really after epic levels of value can bag an absolute bargain at Motors.co.uk. With thousands of used cars for sale at dramatically reduced prices, getting your hands on a second hand Suzuki Alto for hardly any money is incredibly easy.
The Suzuki Alto then is all about motoring on a budget; those people who want a car that is cheap to buy and cheap to run can’t do much better. Despite its value for money tagline, the Alto is actually a great little city car that gives you everything you’d need to motor around on a daily basis. It’s a lot of fun, put it that way.
