Jeff Moses

Sports Club/Association: Barrow Amateur Boxing Club

'I am very surprised and honoured to have been put up for such an award. To think that people think that highly of me has taken me aback somewhat. I am dedicated in providing a club that can offer opportunities for youngsters to grow and progress.

Barrow Amateur Boxing Club is a small club with a big heart, and everyone is like family. We have members from 6 years old right through to late 40’s and recently marked a year with the ladies group.

I take the lads all over the country for their fights, and look to provide them with the best coaching possible. I try to spur them on to find their inner strength, challenging them to dig deep.

Charity work has always been at the forefront of the club, we have raised money to support others through organising Charity balls. We have done well within this arena and look to put another event on soon - It’s good to give back. I do this without wanting anything in return, as I know I’m helping to put the club on the map. I would never expect anything in return, but knowing I’m thought highly of is nice’.

- Jeff Moses, Barrow Amateur Boxing Club

Reason for Nomination:

Jeff is dedicated to running the boxing gym in Barrow. He welcomes youngsters from the age of 6yrs, right up to 40yrs+, as well as recently opened up a ladies class.

Jeff is dedicated to taking the boys to competitions all over the area and is their rock! He is so comitted to boxing and thinks the world of his lads. He also holds boxing events in the local area and raises money for charity. To date, Jeff has raised nearly £10,000! He is truly amazing and should be rewarded for his dedication. Jeff is a shy person, who on the whole does not seek recognition for his efforts, this is another reason why he should be rewarded.
