Ford B-Max Titanium

The Ford B-Max Titanium is essentially a super-sized Ford Fiesta, adding small MPV practicality and distinctive sliding rear doors that do away with the need for B-pillars. That means 1.5 metres of unobstructed access on either side with the front and back doors open.

You can get the B-Max Titanium with 99 or 123bhp 1.0L EcoBoost petrol engines, capable of delivering the same performance as a 1.6L and up to 55mpg, or the super economical 94bhp 1.6L turbodiesel which claims up to 70mpg. Sharp, responsive handling with bags of grip and a smooth, forgiving ride make it a lot more rewarding to drive than its competitors.

Sitting at the premium end of the range, standard kit includes alloys, electric windows, infotainment system, and cruise and climate control. Go for the top-of-the-range Titanium X and you can add bigger alloys, keyless entry, a panoramic roof and part-leather heated seats. Optional extras include sat-nav and an eight-speaker Sony sound system.

For practicality, the B-Max Titanium almost rivals the larger and more expensive C-Max. There's space for a family of five, with lots of head and leg room throughout, and those rear sliding doors make fitting child seats a breeze. Boot space is good too.
