The Dacia Sandero is Britain's cheapest new car, but don't let that put you off. Renault's budget brand is well established on the continent, and the Sandero offers a lot more car for 20% less money than its nearest rival, the Suzuki Alto.
You can choose from two petrol and one diesel motors with the Dacia Sandero: Renault's peppy new turbocharged 898cc engine, a solid 1149cc unit and an economical 1.5L turbodiesel. The Renault unit and the diesel are the spriteliest, and definitely the ones to choose between if you're planning on regular motorway driving.
Dacia Sanderos come in a choice of entry-level Access, mid-range Ambiance and top-spec Laureate models. The Access is basic, with grey plastic bumpers and door handles and a sparse cabin. The Ambiance adds body-coloured bumpers, electric front windows, remote locking and a stereo with USB and auxiliary connectivity. The luxurious Laureate comes with
air-con, trip computer, CD player and cruise control - all for less than a basic Fiesta.
The cabin is where the Dacia Sandero really delivers against its small city car rivals - it offers more room than a Peugeot 208, which costs thousands more. Head and leg room in the back seat far exceeds the class norm, and the boot is much more practical than its rivals. If you prefer a car that's small in size, but big on features and practicality, Motors.co.uk can help you find a great used Sandero from dealers around the UK.
