Fiat Scudo

Fiat launched the Scudo series of vans and people carriers in 1996 and there have been two generations - with the change to the second version coming in 2007 and lasting until 2012.

The first Scudo was available with both petrol and diesel engines, while the second generation only came with diesels: a 1.6L with 90bhp and a 2.0L with either 120bhp or 136bhp. Across the range, all the models are good to drive and have well-fitted, car-like cabins - the driver's seat is particularly good.

You'll find there are three seats in a row across the front and the middle one folds down easily to make a handy table, complete with drinks holders.

The Scudo was originally based on the old Fiat Ulysse people carrier, so there are underpinnings of this in its design. The complex Scudo range encompasses long and short wheelbases, minibuses, people carriers and panel vans.

The MPV version is called Combi and is a great option if you want to transport up to eight adults in spacious comfort without a lot of fuss.
