Jaguar is a British manufacturer of luxury cars and when you think Jaguar cars, you naturally think of very fast and very beautiful cars. New Jaguars tend to be very expensive, yet the depreciation on them is the heaviest in their first year which makes a used Jaguar an excellent buy.
Jaguar cars can be classified as large executive cars, compact executive cars and sports cars. The first of these classes includes the XJ6 which ended production in 1997, the XJ8, and the more recent X350 and X351. Compacts? include the 240, 340 and 420; the S-type, the X-type and the XF. Sports jaguars include what many consider to be one of the most beautiful sports cars ever, the 1960s E-type. That was followed by the XJ-S; the XJ220; and the XK R and the XK R-S.
Jaguar engines are based on V6 and V8 designs and are available with various levels of tuning, including naturally aspirated and supercharged.
Many of the older Jaguars such as the E-type are now quite rare and they are collector's cars that can cost a substantial amount of money, far more than many of the more recent and faster Jaguar sports cars. The Jaguar XK R-S has a 5 litre V8 supercharged engine and will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds.
Jaguar cars are known for their high quality, performance and prestige. Although there are fewer Jaguars on the used car market than many other brands, your best chance of finding a good used Jaguar bargain near you is through Motors.co.uk.
