Volvo didn't need to completely redesign the Mk2 XC60 as it was already a success by the time this model hit the roads. Instead, the luxury automotive company sought to refine what already existed. The first XC60 hit the streets when Ford owned the company, so the SUV shared some engineering with the Land Rover Freelander and the Ford Mondeo.
